The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has chalked out a Rs 317.50-crore plan to boost tourism in the Nashik revenue division.
The state government has approved the plan, which will promote tourism in North Maharashtra. Out of the total fund of Rs 317.50 crore, Rs 126 crore has been sanctioned for various tourism projects in the Nashik district, Rs 46 crore for Dhule, Rs 36 crore for Jalgaon, Rs 57 crore for Ahmednagar and Rs 52 crore for Nandurbar districts, as per a report in The Times of India.
"We recently received an official copy of the letter approving the proposal and sanction of the funds. The aim of the projects is to tap the tourism potential of the scenic locations and promote these for the forthcoming Kumbh and also for regular tourism," said Pradnya-Bade Misal, Regional Manager, MTDC.
