Rotana Hotels & Resorts, an Abu Dhabi based hotel management company, which manages 50 hotels across Middle East and Africa, is hopeful of a major breakthrough in Indian hospitality space soon. “We are closer to confirming our first hotel deal in India in the next four to five months time,” said Andy Nightingale, Director of International Sales, Rotana Hotel Management Corporation.
Nightingale spoke to HospitalityBiz during Rotana Hotels and Resorts’ first ever India Sales Mission held in Delhi today. General Managers from 11 Rotana Hotels from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait are participating in the sales mission, which will visit Delhi and Mumbai to interact with trade partners in the respective cities.
Speaking about plans for the Indian Market, Nightingale said that the company has set a target to have at least 20 hotels in India both under flagship Rotana and also other sub-brands over the next ten years. He expected that once first hotel is established that would fuel faster roll out of hotels across the country. Nightingale said that they are looking for hotels in key cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru. While no city has ‘finalised yet’ for the debut, he confirmed that they would be entering the market with the flagship Rotana brand.
