Crowne Plaza today revealed the finalists shortlisted for the final round of its 'Dressed to Rest' Design Contest, taking place across four markets in Asia and the Middle East. Ten design students each from India, Japan, Singapore and the UAE will now have three weeks to produce their designs ahead of the grand finals in mid-March. One winner will be selected from the 10 finalists in each country and revealed on 14 March, which is also World Sleep Day.
From 6 January to 9 February, students were invited to submit a professional sketch of a stylish sleepwear design via Instagram or Statigram, the platform on which the contest was held. The public were then invited to vote for their favourite designs. The contest received over 137 entries from the four countries and garnered a total of 4,217 votes. Following public voting, the panel of Crowne Plaza judges reviewed each sketch and selected their top 10 in each market.
The panel in India comprised of Theresa Sidhu, Director Brand Management for Crowne Plaza in AMEA, Payal Jain, renowned fashion designer, Dr. Manvir Bhatia, Senior consultant Neurologist and Sleep Specialist and Sanyogeitaa Chadha, Professor and HOD, Department Of Fashion Design, Pearl Academy. Sketches were rated based on overall design, comfort for a good night’s sleep, creativity and consistency with the Crowne Plaza brand and its Sleep Advantage® programme, which reiterates the importance of, and incorporates elements to help guests get, a good night’s sleep.
