HVS announced the finalists for the 10th anniversary HICSA ‘Hotels of the Year Awards’ 2014 Awards to be conferred upon the Best New Hotels across Four Categories, the winners of which were declared at HICSA 2014 March 19, 2014 New Delhi. Instituted in 2009, HICSA 2014 ‘Hotels of the Year Awards’ were conceptualised to acknowledge outstanding new hotel developments in the South Asian region in the past year. The winners for this year’s ‘Hotels of the Year Awards’ will be announced at HICSA to be held on April 2-3, 2014 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.
Among the 34 nominations received this year, HVS shared the names of the finalists across the following four categories: Luxury / Upper Upscale Segment, Upscale / Upper Mid Market Segment, Budget/Mid Market Segment and Economy Segment. The list of finalists was derived by an esteemed panel of six judges using a detailed point-based analysis model of each hotel’s ranking across various criteria. The winners will now be selected by HICSA delegates via an online voting system, which will go LIVE starting March 15, 2014 till April 2, 2014. The names of the winning hotels shall be announced on DAY 1 of the conference as part of the scheduled programme.
Referring to the sixth ‘Hotels of the Year Awards’, Manav Thadani, Chairman – HVS Asia Pacific and Founder of HICSA said,“Over the years, HICSA ‘Hotels of the Year Awards’ have gained immense popularity amongst industry stakeholders. Today, it is widely regarded as a truly prestigious and coveted platform honouring the most outstanding hotel developments in the South Asian region. These awards present a fantastic opportunity for new hotels to be showcased and recognised for their remarkable accomplishment and excellence in performance within the very first year of operation.”
He further added, “Like every year, it has been our endeavour to hand-pick only the best hotels that have genuinely raised industry standards and set new benchmarks. Evidently, all of this year's finalists have contributed to another highly successful twelve months for the region’s hospitality industry. I would like to specially thank all the industry professionals in our judges’ panel, for their time and commitment in carefully selecting the finalists, without whom this would not have been possible.”
