The Vile Parle police on Monday night arrested a 27-year-old hotel manager who allegedly bit his 21-year-girlfriend when she refused to accompany him to his Mira Road home.
The police on Tuesday produced the accused before a local court, which granted him bail.
The police said that the couple, who had met through a common friend, went to a pub in Khar (W) on May 17. After partying at the pub, the hotel manager gave her a lift home in his car. The woman told the police that she wanted to get off at her Andheri (W) residence, but he insisted that she accompany him to his Mira Road home. A scuffle ensued between the couple over the issue and he allegedly bit her. The woman then approached the Vile Parle police, who booked the hotel manager under Indian Penal Code section 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt).
After inquiring into the details, the police arrested him on Monday.
