Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels is planning to add 1,600-2,000 rooms to the portfolio of its new mid segment brand 'Zone by The Park' over the next five years.
The group launched the first property under the new brand, a 56-room hotel, in Coimbatore on Monday. Zone by The Park will target tier II and tier III cities with 80-100 room properties which Apeejay Surrendra will run on a management contract basis.
The group will launch four properties under the brand in 2015--in Jaipur, Chennai, Mahabalipuram and Raipur--reaching a total of 275 rooms "People in the smaller cities have been upgrading themselves with trends from the metropolitans, be it in terms of adaptation of global cuisine or a happening nightlife," said Priya Paul, chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels.
