“The Lalit Travellers” - The New Lalit Push

After setting up a luxury hotel chain, the Lalit Suri Hospitality Group is all set to enter into the business of mid-segment affordable hotels across India, with a special focus on travelers.

“The Lalit will invest over Rs 300 crore on these hotels, which are expected to come up in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, Lalit Suri Hospitality Group Chairperson and Managing Director Jyotsna Suri said. Prior to its plans to set up an affordable hotels business, the Lalit Suri-founded chain will make foray into European markets by opening a 70-room luxury hotel at Tooley Street in London, with an investment of around 45 million pounds. The boutique hotel in London is expected to come up in mid-2016. Another luxury hotel will be ready in Ahmedabad, along with that. “After these two luxury hotels, we are going to make an aggressive foray into the mid-segment. The hotels will have a capacity of 40-50 rooms each, affordable to all,” Suri told Deccan Herald, adding that these hotels will come under the banner “The Lalit Travellers”.

The first of the new series of affordable hotels will come up in Chitrakoot in Madhya Pradesh. “We are targeting the religious places and Buddhist circuits around India. This is also aimed at imparting knowledge about India’s ancient culture and civilisation. We will capture most of India’s smaller towns and cities through the mid-segment hotels,” Suri said.
