Jubilant FoodWorksBSE -2.72 % has reduced the total number of Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in the country to 55 at the quarter ended June 30, 2017, compared with 77 outlets during same period last year, according to company's financial report for the first quarter.
The majority of the restaurants were however closed during fourth quarter of of the last fiscal and first quarter of the current fiscal. The company closed a total of 22 outlets in the last six months, but added just four new outlets during the said period, the report said. The company had earlier stated that it will open only 5 new stores in this fiscal as it looks to reduce the losses at Dunkin' Donuts to half.
