Dubai-based Jumeirah Group, a member of Dubai Holding, is in talks to open a property in the Indian state of Goa, ahead of the opening of its debut hotel in Mumbai in 2017, according to a report by Arabian Business.com. “We are in serious discussions with the owner in Mumbai to do another hotel in Goa. Jumeirah Group, the global luxury hospitality company and a member of Dubai Holding, has announced its performance in the first quarter of 2013 and its mid-term growth strategy. During the first quarter of 2013, average occupancy in Jumeirah’s portfolio of hotels has increased by nine per cent globally, compared to the same period in 2012. In the same period the average daily rate rose by nine per cent and the revenue per available room, an industry standard for measuring performance, rose by 22 per cent. The performance data is based on hotels that had more than 18 months of operations.

NEWS | Jumeirah betting big on the Indian market



Dubai based luxury hospitality company and member of Dubai Holdings, Jumeirah Group is betting big upon the Indian market and has narrowed down on places for expansion over the next five years. Last year in November, Jumeirah had signed a management agreement to operate a luxury hotel in the Lower Parel district of Mumbai. The 470-room hotel with a wide range of restaurants and bars, extensive conference, wedding, banqueting and meeting facilities and a Talise spa, is expected to be completed in 2017.

Jumeirah announces expansion of Madinat JumeirahJumeirah Group, the global luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, has confirmed plans to build a major extension to Madinat Jumeirah, its Arabian resort in Dubai. The resort currently houses three hotels – Al Qasr, Mina A'Salam and Dar Al Masyaf – linked by a traditional Arabian souk and a meandering waterway. The project, known as Madinat Jumeirah Phase 4, will include a luxury five-star hotel, a villa complex, restaurants and a commercial centre with retail stores as well as a pedestrian precinct.
