The study offered peer comparison for companies within their respective verticals. Only two chains from the hospitality industry made it to the Top 15 List For Great Places to Work (2009): Marriott Hotels India bagged the seventh position, ITC Limited─Hotels Division the 14th position and East Indian Hotels made it to the top 50.
Dipak Haksar, COO, ITC Hotels, says, “The recognition further validates the fact that a company starts with the work culture and we've really focused on making ITC Welcomgroup an organisation where employees grow beyond professionals.'' In the study, only one in seven who participated, made it to the coveted Top 50 making this perhaps the most exclusive list of best employers. The aim of the study is to raise awareness among the companies in order to begin the workplace transformation process.
