Club Méditerranée to launch Sun Mountain Yabuli resort in China

Club Méditerranée will launch first Club Med mountain resort - Melco China Resorts Sun Mountain Yabuli resort in November 2010. Club Med signed an agreement with Melco China Resorts Ltd (MCR) in February this year. Under the agreement, the upmarket Sun Mountain Yabuli resort will be home to the Club Med mountain resort and will be aligned with the brand's standards by November 2010.

According to a report in etravelblackboard, Club Med will cover the cost of aligning the resort for a maximum investment of USD 3 million and will operate and market the resort through a ten-year renewable management contract. MCR will manage all ski-related activities at Yabuli, which is currently the country's largest ski resort. Club Med said it planned to strengthen its presence in upscale resorts with plans to open five resorts between 2010 and 2014.
