Hotel and resorts operator Banyan Tree said it no longer operates the Banyan Tree Al Areen resort in Bahrain.It disclosed this in a statement, saying that its designated acting general manager for the resort was denied access to the property on Friday.
Banyan Tree said this was in violation of its hotel management agreement (HMA) with Al Areen for the resort.
Banyan Tree said it has served notice to Al Areen to remove all items bearing its trademarks and for Al Areen to stop associating the resort with Banyan Tree or its brand and trademarks immediately.
