Copenhagen Restaurant Rated No. 1 on S. Pellegrino Best 50

Copenhagen restaurant Noma has been ranked No. 1 in the S. Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants list for 2010, rising from No. 3 last year.

At No.2 was El Bulli, which was No. 1 last year. It is run by Ferran Adrià in Spain and has been in the top three since the awards were begun in 2002. Fat Duck, operated by Heston Blumenthal in England, was rated No. 3 after being ranked at No. 2 last year. Rounding out the top five were two other restaurants in Spain: El Celler de Can Roca and Mugaritz.



Noma — whose chef is René Redzepi — seats 42 diners and is housed in a converted warehouse by the waterside in the Christianshavn district.
