Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India will soon 'take a call' on the demand for setting up a National Culinary Institute.
This was informed by Sanjay Kothari, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India during the Chef Awards function organised jointly by PHD Chamber and Chef Associations in New Delhi recently.
Kothari said that MoT is very keen to set─up a National Culinary Institute and the government will take a call on it in the next few months. He added, “The department has to decide on the structure and that would be in all probability be a Public─Private─Partnership (PPP).”
Earlier, Anil Bhandari, Chairman, abSmart Concepts & Chairman of the Chef Awards event has reiterated the long─standing demand for a dedicated Culinary Institute to impart knowledge and promote Indian cuisines. He also urged the MoT to create a tourism circuit around cuisines of India.
