JW Marriott Mumbai, which started the renovation of its room in April this year, targets to complete the same by October 2011.
The 355 rooms (including 29 suites) will undergo complete renovation and refurbishment and the approximate amount of investment for each room on an average is Rs 15─18 lakh.
Speaking exclusively with Hospitality Biz, Guy Godet, General Manager, JW Marriott Mumbai said, “Since the opening of the property eight years back, the hotel did not undergo renovation and hence, we have decided that now it is time to fully refurbish the rooms. However, other areas of the hotel will undergo renovation at a later stage. As time passes, it is required to change the style and tune in to the latest trends and upgrade the facilities (in terms of technology). We have completely dismantled the rooms and installed new cables, new furniture and fittings, new air conditioning, new fresh air system, flat screen TV in all rooms etc. The intention behind renovating the room was to bring a strong element of luxury in the rooms.”
