Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BCIHMCT) in New Delhi has achieved another milestone by becoming the first hotel management institute in India to get direct accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The institute directly approached NAAC for accreditation and a delegation from NAAC conducted an inspection between November 15 and 16, 2010.
The accreditation committee of NAAC comprised Prof Bala Mohan Das, former Vice Chancellor of Nagarjuna University, Hyderabad and Prof RK Saxena, Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai. The accreditation body decided to recognise BCIHMCT as 'B' Grade, on a four point scale, for a five─year term starting from January 8, 2011.
Prof RK Bhandari, Principal, BCIHMCT, “It is a great achievement for a private hospitality institute and a validation of the quality in terms of infrastructure facility, faculty and curriculum we impart. It has been our endeavour to set standards.”
