Airport retailer Dubai Duty Free, owner of a new 5-star hotel at The Aviation Club, has tapped Jumeirah Group to operate the property.
The hotel, situated close to the airport overlooking Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, has 293 guestrooms, two restaurants, two bars and two lounges, as well as a spa and health club, and conference and banqueting facilities. The hotel sits within the grounds of The Aviation Club, a sports and leisure complex that is home to the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Irish Village. The hotel is scheduled to open this year.
“We are delighted to sign the management agreement with Jumeirah Group, who have a great deal of experience in operating some of the most iconic hotels in Dubai and have expanded considerably in recent years,” says Colm McLoughlin, managing director of Dubai Duty Free. “We are confident that the new hotel will be a valued addition to the business and leisure facilities in Dubai and compliment the successful Aviation Club."
The hotel’s proximity to the airport and the wide range of sporting and leisure activities in the vicinity is expected to make the hotel popular with both high-end business and leisure travelers.
