Jumeirah to operate Thousand Islands Lake Resort

Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company and member of Dubai Holding, has signed a management agreement with Liuhe Group, a subsidiary of Hangzhou-based WEI Jun, to operate the Jumeirah Thousand Islands Lake Resort in Qiandaohu, China.

The resort is situated on Qiandao Lake in the heart of the popular Hangzhou-Thousand Island Yellow Mountain Golden Tourism Route, approximately 135 km from Hangzhou. Surrounded by lush forests and offering beautiful lakeside views, the property will consist of a luxury hotel with 89 guestrooms and a further 50 rooms in villas dotted among the trees. In addition, there will be an all-day dining restaurant together with two specialty waterside restaurants, a water-moon wine bar and a pool bar.

Adjacent to the hotel will be a banquet and conference centre. A Talise spa will be available to guests along with swimming pools and a fitness and health centre.

The resort is currently under development and is expected to open in 2014.

The hotel is situated on Lake Qiandao, also known as Thousand Island Lake as it contains 1078 islands. The 573 square km lake lies in Chun'an County in Zhejiang Province about 135 km from Hangzhou, 280 km from Nanjing and 330 km from Shanghai.
