Minor International plans to manage eight hotels in India by 2016

Minor International, a hospitality and leisure company with over 1,000 restaurants and 27 hotel and resorts in the Asia Pacific region, plans to operate eight hotels in India in the next five years. The first hotel Anantara Resort & Spa Chennai with 110 keys in Mamallapuram, Chennai will be operational by end of 2012.



Speaking about Minor’s development plan in India, Dillip Rajakarier, Chief Operating Officer, Minor International said, “As of now the hotels in India will be under management contracts. The partner should understand the brand and his vision should align with our vision. We have tied up with Wadhawan Group for the upcoming projects in India and have acquired lands in Wayanad, Varanasi, Udaipur and Chennai for the upcoming projects.” The average room for the upcoming properties is 80-100.
