The crop of hotels that sprung up around Multiplaza, Escazú, in the last several years has grown by one, the Holiday Inn that just this week opened its doors to six storeys and 160 rooms to the public.
The Holiday Inn joins two Marriott hotels - the Marriott Residences and Marriott Courtyard - and the Intercontinental Real.
Built by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the Holiday Inn is part of a major global re-launch of the brand, the hotel is situated within five miles of downtown San José, within walking distance of the Multiplaza shopping mall, restaurants and entertainment venues.
Guests can make use of amenities including wireless and high-speed internet access, a pool deck, a fitness centre and a restaurant serving international cuisine.
Alvaro Diago, IHG's chief operating officer in Latin America and the Caribbean, said: 'The Holiday Inn San José Escazú raises the bar for the Holiday Inn brand in our region.
'This property is an excellent representation of what Holiday Inn affords its guests in terms of both accommodation and amenities.'
IHG operates a total of 23 properties in Central America, including Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador.
There are two other Holday Inns in Costa Rica, the Aurola in downtown San José, across from the Morazan park and the Holiday Inn Express by the Juan Santamaría airport.
