As part of Ministry of Tourism's (MoT) plans to expand the scope of their most populist capacity building programme – Hunar se Rozgar ─ the government will soon institutionalise the concept by involving corporate entities in running the programme.
As a first step, India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a nodal agency under the MoT, will sign a MoU with Neemrana Hotels to set up an institute in Neemrana, Rajasthan, for training youths under the Hunar se Rozgar programme.
According to Lalit K Panwar, Chairman and Managing Director, ITDC, the MoU will be signed among ITDC, Neemrana Hotels and Khushii, an NGO working for the all round upliftment of rural communities, within the next three months. Neemrana Hotels has been training and employing youth from nearby villages in Neemrana for some time now. We approached them and expressed our interest to join hands,” he said.
