The Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India awarded Vivanta by Taj – Kumarakom the 'Best Four─Star Hotel' at the prestigious National Tourism Awards 2009─2010, which was held recently in New Delhi. Sibi Matthews, General Manager, Vivanta by Taj─Kumarakom, received the award.
Matthews said, “The award is a testimony to the endless efforts of the team and that their dedicated commitment over the years has paid off, making Vivanta by Taj ─ Kumarakom the best four─star hotel in the country.”
According to a report in www.hindubusinessline.com, MoT presents National Tourism Awards to various segments of the travel and tourism industry every year. These awards are presented to state governments, classified hotels, heritage hotels, approved travel agents, tour operators and tourist transport operators, individuals and other private organisations in recognition of their performances in their respective fields, and also to encourage healthy competition with an aim to promote tourism.
