Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts plans to open 11 properties in India by 2015, with a new property coming up in Kerala in the latter part of 2012.
The company also plans to double the number of properties under its banner by 2013. This information was given by Arthur Kiong, Managing Director, Hotel Operations Asia Pacific & Senior Vice President, Group Marketing Services, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts.
Koing further said, “Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts will foray into the Indian market with the property launch in Kerala scheduled to open in 2012. Given the strong economic scenario and the rise in demand for luxury stays in India, we see the market as a strong indicator for our global growth. While our first property in India will be in the landscapes of Kerala, we intend to expand deeper in to the South region as well as spread our properties across the other lucrative cities of India. We expect to launch 10 properties in India to increase the market thrust.”
