Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa (Star) won Malaysia's Best Luxury Family Hotel Award at the Luxury Hotel Awards gala event.
Although more than 1,000 hotels from 78 countries were nominated to participate in the award, only two Shangri-La properties made it to the world wide winners' list.
The World Luxury Hotel Awards was established in year 2006 to recognise the world wide luxury hotel industry and legendary hotels with respect to facilities and overall service excellence. The World Luxury Hotel Awards celebrates the world's finest hotels committed to the highest standards of quality service and congratulates hotels that have taken extra step by providing their guests with outstanding experiences. The World Luxury Hotel Awards is positioned as the pinnacle of achievement for five-star luxury hotels world wide. International tour operators, travel agents and hotel agents took part in the voting process.
