Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (IHCL) has invested heavily in its overseas projects, with a commitment of USD 93.47 million to its Hong Kong-based wholly-owned subsidiary Taj International Hotels (HK) and USD 3.6 million to its US-based arm International Hotel Management Services.
The data was released by Reserve Bank of India on January 11, 2012. Both the Hong Kong based hotel, and the US-based International Hotel Management Services are engaged in retail, wholesale, restaurant and hospitality services. According to a report in the Economic Times, even as the FDI noticed a downfall in the month of December, the overall FDI of companies in India has been a substantial USD 25.3 billion.
