Hospitality Career E-Mag: NEWS | Restaurant chain Chennai Dosa to expand in UK; plans to enter India soon

Restaurant chain Chennai Dosa which already has 10 outlets in the UK, is planning to expand with two more outlets this year. The food chain runs several outlets in London, including Reading, Birmingham and Leicester.
The new outlets will open in Slough and Cardiff. Suresh Basker, one of the founders of the company and General Manager, said, “In 2002 when we started this company there were no restaurants of our kind in the whole of UK. We brought a radical change opening this particular restaurant and this kind of food in East London so that is the thing which has created a very big demand.” Chennai Dosa is named after the capital of Tamil Nadu and the signature dosa is from that region. The food chain plans to expand in Europe and India as well. Basker said, “We are the number one chain of South Indian restaurants in the whole of the UK, maybe the whole of Europe.”
