Shalil Suvarna has been appointed as Regional Director of Operations of Absolute Hotel Services India effectively February 1, 2012. The announcement was made by Mark Heather, Managing Director of the Absolute Hotel Services India.
Suvarna’s responsibilities as the Regional Director of Operations include ensuring a smooth transition from project to operation stage for new properties/renovations within an acceptable time and budget, development, support and oversight of operations at new properties for each of the hotels and resorts and the management of Absolute Hotel Services India including branded U Hotels & Resorts, Eastin Hotels & Residences and Eastin Easy as well as all non-branded hotels. Mark Heather, Managing Director, Absolute Hotel Services India, said, “We are happy to welcome Shalil on board and expect all properties to benefit from his years in Hotel Operations. Apart from operations he will also be responsible for guest satisfaction and brand audits of all our branded properties in India thus ensuring we achieve the Guest Delight we aim for.” Shalil has 21 years of experience in the industry. He started his career from Front Office taking up various positions within Rooms Division along the way, finally moving up the ladder to General Management. He has been associated with Domestic and International Brands including Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Carlson Hotels Worldwide and Wyndham Hotels amongst others. A Science Graduate for Mumbai University, Shalil studied Hotel Management from IHM, Mumbai and has undergone Professional Development Programs from Cornell University. He has been awarded with Young Hotel Manager Award twice by the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Association in India (FHRAI).
