Kolkata-based Sinclairs Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its presence across India by 2015. The company’s portfolio currently consists of six properties which collectively hold 400 rooms. Navin Suchanti, CEO & Managing Director, Sinclairs Hotels & Resorts revealed that the company is in the process of setting up three Greenfield projects, which after implementation will increase the size of Sinclairs’ portfolio to around 600 rooms.
“The first project is a 46-room luxury resort in Kalimpong, a hill station in West Bengal, and we expect to launch the property early next year. The second property is a tourist resort in Burdwan, West Bengal, with extensive club and banqueting facilities and 20 rooms. The property is close to a Greenfield airport being set up at Andal. Our third property is a 100-plus room upscale business hotel in Kolkata in the IT hub of Rajarhat. Land for this property has already been acquired and we are currently awaiting the final sanction from the authorities,” he said. Sinclairs Hotels & Resorts has been enjoying a year on year growth of 15 per cent and the group expects to witness the top line to more than double in the next two years. “We are actively looking at new properties in other leisure destinations in West Bengal. On an average, our leisure properties receive 20 per cent foreign and 80 per cent domestic guests,” Suchanti added.
