The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts is set to open ten hotels this year in gateway cities and resort destinations in China, India, Australia, Thailand and Indonesia. Shanghai and Sanya in China; Jaipur and Chennai in India; the Blue Mountains in Australia; Koh Samui in Thailand and Jakarta, Indonesia will see openings of these new properties.
The Royal Begonia, a resort, will debut in Sanya in August 2012 as the brand’s first resort in China. The resort will offer 142 guest rooms with 18 eighteen luxury villas. In September 2012, Twelve at Hengshan, will open in Shanghai. This 171-room residential-style hotel is situated on Hengshan Road. The 600-room ITC Grand Chola in Chennai, India will open in August this year. Keraton at The Plaza, a 140-room property in Jakarta opened in April 2012. In February this year, Starwood introduced The Luxury Collection brand to Australia with the signings of the 85-room Lilianfels and 14-room Echoes in the Blue Mountains, Australia. Vana Belle Resort & Spa in Koh Samui will be the brand’s third property in Thailand. This 80-room resort is scheduled to open in December 2012.
