Minor Hotel Group (MHG) earlier this week announced addition of a new property to its portfolio in Phuket, Thailand. Located on Layan Beach, Bundarika Villas & Suites features 77 villas and suites on 400 metres of secluded beach. The property currently is closed for renovation and will re-open as Anantara Phuket Layan Resort & Spa in 2013. In addition to the hotel,
MHG has acquired 12.5 acres/5 hectares of adjacent hillside land, which it plans to develop into a high-end residential project. Dillip Rajakarier, CEO, MHG, commented, "We are excited to announce this new addition to our portfolio and what will become a second Anantara resort in Phuket. Bundarika offers guests an exclusive retreat and is ideal to be re-branded to an Anantara next year after renovation and an operational improvement programme."
