The Southern Interface and The Grand Finale of Archumen 1213 were hosted at The Capitol in Bengaluru on November 9, 2012. ROCA was the main sponsor of the event. The event was supported by The Indian Institute of Architects and National Association of Students of Architecture. The episodes in the East, North and West were already held previously in Kolkata,
New Delhi and Pune respectively.
The participation in these events crossed all expectations even of Ethos, an architecture organisation that conducts this event. The Southern Interface saw an audience of over 300 students, faculty and architects with over 125 teams that participated from different parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. There were teams that had travelled from Calicut, Chennai, Hyderabad, Guntur, Bijapur, Belgaum, Hubli, Tumkur, Ooty, Kollam, Vijayawada and many other places for the Southern Interface.
Archumen – The Southern Interface South Zone Finalists included MSRIT Bengaluru, RVCE Bengaluru, Vaishnavi College of Architecture Hyderabad, Sree Venkateshwara College of Architecture Hyderabad, Dayanand Sagar School of Architecture Bengaluru and UVCE Bengaluru.
Winners were Ashiq Patra and Shashank from Dayanand Sagar School of Architecture Bengaluru. Last year’s national champions Arnav Garde and Ashwin Joshi from PVPCOA Pune ably defended their title. The first runner-up was the team from Dayanand Sagar School of Architecture following closely behind with UVCE Bengaluru emerging as the second runner-up.
