A Los Angeles (LA)-based real estate investment and development company, Laurus Corp., has purchased the Hilton Kansas City Airport hotel and is planning a USD eight million renovation. Laurus acquired the Hilton hotel from Davidson Hotels & Resorts. The hotel, a longtime Hilton property on Interstate 29 near the airport, has 347 guest rooms and suites along with 21,000 square feet of meeting space.
Laurus plans an extensive interior renovation, including a redesigned lobby and sitting room and a makeover of the bar and restaurant. Guest rooms will also be renovated with new furniture, wall finishings, drapery and bed sets. Bathrooms will offer new plumbing fixtures and tile.The acquirer specialises in hotels, resorts, office buildings, multi-family developments and mixed-use properties, according to a report by Steve Rosen in kansascity.com.
