NEWS| The Leela Palace Bangalore receives National Energy Conservation Award 2012

 

The Leela Palace Bangalore was conferred the National Energy Conservation Award 2012 by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee for its outstanding achievements in energy conservation. The award, a prestigious national recognition of the hotels consistent and energy efficient management, was received by Andrew Hendrian, General Manager, at a recently held ceremony in New Delhi.
The National Energy Conservation Awards, organised annually by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), which is a statutory body under ministry of power, government of India, nationally recognise the businesses that have made systematic and serious attempts for efficient utilisation and conservation of energy during the year. The winners are selected from across a broad range of industries including aluminum, automobile, chemicals, consumer goods, distillery and brewery, drugs and pharmaceuticals, fertilisers, forging, foundries, glass, integrated steel, mini steel, mining, paper and pulp, petrochemicals, refractory, sugar, steel re-rolling mills, textile plants and more. Commenting on the recognition, Hendrian, said, “We are honoured to receive this coveted recognition for our enduring commitment to promoting energy conservation. We are proud to be part of a group known for its green innovation efforts which today has resulted in us achieving higher energy efficiencies and contributing everyday towards protecting our environment.”
