Carlson Rezidor Group which plans to have more than 100 hotels in its portfolio by 2015 in the country will focus on its Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn & Suites brands for expansion. The company, which is introducing its Park Inn by Radisson brand this year, will launch 13 hotels in the country in 2013.
“Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is hoping to capitalize on this shift by focusing less on the upper tier and more on accessible middle-tier offerings, and will spend the next five years focusing primarily on its newly reengineered Park Inn by Radisson brand and Country Inn & Suites,” KB Kachru, Executive Vice President South Asia of Carlson Rezidor told India Hospitality Review.
According to Kachru, the company is looking at having a presence across Tier I, Tier II and Tier III cities across business and leisure destinations in the country in its five years plan.
Speaking about geographical locations, Kachru said, “We will keep continuing our momentum in Northern Indian, accelerate our growth in Southern India and work on the strategic development in key locations of Eastern India.”
The strategy however will be multi pronged and will depend on seasonality and market outlook, Kachru added.
Last year in April, Carlson Rezidor signed a strategic alliance with Bestech Hospitality to develop 49 Park Inn by Radisson hotels in the country by 2024.
“Carlson Rezidor’s expansion in India has gained traction with the signing in April of a strategic alliance with Bestech Hospitalities to develop a network of 49 Park Inn by Radisson hotels in North and Central India by 2024. Under the agreement, Carlson Rezidor and Bestech will invest USD 42 million in a joint venture to develop the first two hotels, Park Inn by Radisson Gurgaon Sector 88 and Park Inn by Radisson Chandigarh, Mohali,” Kachru said.
