Carlson Rezidor eyes 200 hotels in India

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which operates Radisson brand of hotels among other brands in its portfolio, is eyeing to have over 200 hotels in India by 2020 through organic growth and acquisitions, top company officials said.

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is planning to add 38 new hotels in India and increase employee strength by over 9,000 by 2015. "We are aspiring to have 100 hotels in India by 2015, and currently we have 62 hotels in operation," K B Kachru, Executive Vice President of South Asia, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, told PTI. There are more than 5,000 rooms, a part of the expansion scheme, under development, he said. Currently, the company is mostly looking for management contract in the country. However, the hospitality group expects to have an equal number of properties under the franchise and management contract models by 2015.
