Since its opening in 2010, the Movenpick Hotel Ramallah in Palestine, has been engaged in numerous environmental activities, following Movenpick Hotels&Resorts’ corporate responsibility business strategy. With their innovative approach to “Go Green,” this luxury property sets an example in the West Bank region, and their efforts were awarded Green Globe certification.

Recently, the very first recycling company in this country opened, which will help us to take our initiatives a step further. Social responsibility is a very important topic at the Movenpick Hotel Ramallah, and the property works closely with a number of local institutions, such as orphanages, and medical associations.
Since the beginning of this year, the hotel is supporting the Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department. Guests are encouraged to add $1 to their hotel bill, which will be donated to this new state-of the-art hospital.
The hotels’ environmental policy reflects the city of Ramallah’s recent “Green Movement,” whose goal is “building a beautiful, clean, safe, and environmentally-friendly city.” At the Movenpick Hotel Ramallah, a long-term sustainability management system is in effect, and energy and water consumption is optimized and strictly monitored.
Waste segregation is being practiced at the property, and reduction goals are specified. The purchasing policy favors local products and suppliers, and supports small businesses in the area. The most popular “Palestinian Breakfast Corner” at the hotel restaurant features local “all-time favorites,” and invites visitors on a journey of culinary discovery.
