Fire destroys furniture in Pimpri hotel

A fire broke out at a three-storeyed hotel near Sai Chowk in Pimpri on Tuesday morning.
No one was injured in the incident. The fire started around 10am at hotel Raunak in the main market of Pimpri camp. The locals called the fire brigade after seeing plumes of smoke emanating from the building. Kiran Gawde, fire officer of PCMC, said, "Three fire engines rushed to the spot and it tool around 20 to 25 minutes to bring the fire under control."

The fire started at the second floor of the building probably due to a short-circuit in the air-conditioner, Gawde said. The furniture on this floor was gutted. The fire fighters brought it under control before it could cause major damage on these floors, Gawde said.
