InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world's leading hotel companies, was given the coveted title of Best Global Hotel Chain at the 24th Annual TTG Travel Awards 2013, held in Bangkok last night. The hotel group's InterContinental Manila also took home its fourth consecutive win as Best City Hotel in Manila and Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Causeway Bay as Best Budget Hotel.
Jan Smits, Chief Executive Officer, Asia, Middle East and Africa, IHG said: "We're honoured to be named Best Global Hotel Chain at this year's TTG Awards and are thrilled that the readers of all six TTG titles voted for us. We're passionate about providing guests with a great experience across all our hotel brands, whether they are staying at an InterContinental or a Holiday Inn Express, so these awards are a fantastic testament to that."
InterContinental Manila, a landmark hotel in the Philippines' metropolis, was awarded Best City Hotel in Manila for the fourth consecutive time. It is the longest standing hotel in the city and features 388 beautiful guestrooms and suites as well as award-winning restaurants, and bars regularly visited by local celebrities.
Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Causeway Bay, which is located in the middle of Hong Kong's bustling commercial hub, was awarded Best Budget Hotel in the region.
The awards come on the back of IHG's landslide wins at the World Travel Awards 2013 and Business Traveller Asia-Pacific Awards 2013. Notably, Holiday Inn claimed the accolade of Best Mid-Market Hotel Brand in the World for the 13th year in a row at the Business Traveller Awards.
The TTG Travel Awards is a prestigious annual event that honours outstanding organisations and individuals in four categories: Travel Supplier, Travel Agency, Outstanding Achievement and Travel Hall of Fame. It has been recognising the best of Asia Pacific's travel industry since 1989.
