The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Department of
Tourism and Department of Urban Development, have appointed Accenture
Management Consulting (AMC) to review rules and regulations, licences,
permits and the application procedure pertaining to the hospitality
industry, stated a report by Neha Madaan in The Times of India.
Hoteliers, restaurant owners, bars and pub owners in the state have to run from pillar to post for over 40 licenses and permits that they have to obtain from different departments to start a business. The review project also aims to gradually reduce repetitive information and form-filling that is required in such cases and to devise a one-stop online single window system from where businesses can get all relevant information and apply for different permits and licences together.
