NEWS | Surat restaurants get closure notice over filth
Around half a dozen restaurants and fast-food joints in the railway station and Delhi Gate areas in Surat were asked to shut their shops for not maintaining hygiene in their kitchens and throwing filth on the roads.
Official sources said that the health department led by newly appointed deputy commissioner (health and hospital) RJ Patel started an intensive health campaign in the city on Tuesday targeting the restaurants and roadside eateries.
The restaurants and food joints like Kamat Tirupati restaurant, Sher-E-Punjab, Vijay Fast food and another food joint were served with closure notices.
Around 23 hotels and restaurants and at least 24 roadside eateries were checked in the surprise drive.
