Barbeque Nation (The world on a grill), a unit of Sayaji Hotels Limited, launched its exclusive restaurant at Chandigarh on 17 March 2008. The company also plans to expand its chain of restaurants in various cities of Punjab, including Ludhiana, Jallandhar and Amritsar.Mitu Mohanan, Marketing Head, Barbeque Nation says, “We wanted to introduce a new concept of live barbeque in the city. So we have opened our exclusive restaurant with 170 covers and 45 small and big family tables. Each table will offer the customer an unlimited spread of meat and vegetables. Our restaurant is meant for families, who can enjoy live grilled unlimited ten dishes (five vegetarian and five vegetarian), followed by soups and salads”.
Mohanan further confirms that the hotel will celebrate the opening night. It has invited Bollywood actress Pooja Bedi to be its special Chef and she will start the cooking fire. He says, “After Chandigarh, in a span of three months, we are opening our restaurants in Pune, Thane, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur and Ahmedabad. We are also in the process of opening such restaurants in Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar in Punjab. However, some legal formalities have to be completed.”
