Wyndham to manage new resort in China, debut in Thailand

Wyndham Hotel Group will open and manage a Wyndham-branded resort in Sanya, China, and a resort under development in Khao Lak, Thailand.

“The Asia Pacific region continues to be a key area of focus for our company’s development,” says Wyndham Hotel Group President and CEO Eric Danziger. “We are pleased to work with South Sea Prakarang Resort Co. Ltd. and Sanya Hengsen Industrial Investment Co. Ltd. to introduce Wyndham Hotels and Resorts in Thailand and grow the brand in China, further strengthening our presence in this region.”

The beachfront Wyndham Khao Lak Resort, owned by South Sea Prakarang, is under construction and is scheduled to open late this year. The hotel will feature 134 guestrooms and 66 villas, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa, a gym, meeting and banquet space, an all-day-dining restaurant, an American bistro and a beach bar.

The 26-story Wyndham Sanya Resort, expected to open in January 2014, will offer access to the beach, shopping and entertainment. Each of the 403 guestrooms will offer scenic views of Sanya Bay. The resort will feature indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gym, meeting and banquet space and Western, Chinese and specialty restaurants.
