Mercure London City Bankside comprises of 144 bedrooms, 4 Conference Rooms, Loft Restaurant & Bar, fitness room. We are currently recruiting a FLEXIBLE FOOD & BEVERAGE TEAM MEMBER, working mainly evenings to join our team. Duties include: -Providing a warm welcome for guests and making recommendations from the menu/ drinks list if requested -Provide an excellent customer service that’s anticipates individual guest needs -Bring dishes/ drinks to the table and clear dinner plates, serving dishes and clearing cutlery and dishes away -Make recommendations of which wine to accompany guest meals -Prepare and set tables for the next guests -Ensure the food service area is left clean and tidy once all the guests have left -Provide drinks service to the tables in the bar, as required. -To ensure the guests receive high quality services and service provision. -To be a salesman and go beyond the general level of service expected -To seek out guests to assist and offer service. -To maintain the front and back of house areas to a very high standard of presentation -To assist colleagues in other areas without prompting in a spirit of co-operation -To ensure that health and safety and procedures are respected (especially HACCP) Spotlight on Personality: - Good interpersonal skills and self confidence - Guest orientated and service minded - Responsiveness - Listening and communication skills - Thorough and well organised - Attention to detail and quality - Proactive and Decisive - Diplomacy and self control - Working knowledge of English This position requires flexibility, working mainly evening shifts.
