The UAE based Southern Franchisee Company (SFC), with speciality hospitality operations, is foraying into India with plans to start 200 outlets, including 25 in kerala, with a total investment of rs 750 crore.

The Excise Department in Kerala has rescheduled the working time of bar hotels in Kochi. As per the notification issued on Wednesday, bar hotels in the Corporation limit can function each day from 9 am till midnight, while those in Municipalities and Panchayaths can remain open from 8 am to 11 pm.

NEW HOTELS| Nyle Plaza launches luxury hotel in Kochi
To be functional within a weekKerala-based Nyle Plaza Hotels and Properties unveiled a luxury hotel, Nyle Plaza at Vyttila in Kochi, recently. It will be functional within a week. The group has invested Rs 12 crore for the same.
The hotel offers ....
51 well-furnished rooms, which include two presidential suites, seven suites, 29 superior and 16 deluxe rooms. In addition, it has a 100-seat conference hall, 200-seat banquet hall, a multi-cuisine restaurant and a 24 hour coffee shop. The group seeks a three star classification for the same. As per Ravi Chandy, Managing Director, Nyle Plaza hotels and properties, the hotel’s main objective is to promote tourism and tackle the shortage of accommodation for tourists.
While inaugurating the hotel, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Minister for Tourism, Government of Kerala said that the state requires 10000 more rooms as there was a shortage of accommodation for tourists, during the peak season. Presently, the state has a capacity of only 10000 rooms.

NEWS| Kanoos Group to invest Rs 200 crore in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in next 2 years
The $500 million Kanoos Group will invest Rs 200 crore in hospitality projects in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the next two years. Group chairman K S Khader Pillai said that the group was planning to set up four-star hotels in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala and Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.
The group expected that the projects could be completed in two years. While places were identified in Kochi and Coimbatore for the hotels, land was being looked for the Thiruvananthapuram project. The group is already running a hotel at Palakkad and the latest addition is Kanoos Residency at the East Nada in Guruvayur.
