Markus Binkert (41), currently Head of Sales & Marketing Switzerland, Germany & Austria, has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer of SWISS airlines, starting his new duties on 1 May. Markus Binkert joined SWISS in 2005. After initially serving as Head of Global Key Account & Business Sales Switzerland, he moved in 2008 to head up the Product & Services department, where his achievements included introducing the new SWISS long-haul cabin product.

International hotel expert Jacky Tresch is the new Director of Sales and Marketing at the five-star Hotel Royal Savoy in Lausanne. The multifunctional 200-room establishment will be welcoming a local as well as an international clientele from 2014. The Mövenpick Hotel Lausanne, Switzerland has unveiled three conference rooms and 72 business rooms following the completion of a major six-floor extension project. The new rooms are designed to satisfy a new generation of business travellers who not only need fast Wi-Fi and a safe place to store their laptops, but also a room that is contemporary as well as comfortable.

Christian Dangel has been appointed the new Manager of the Steigenberger Bellerive au Lac in Zurich, where he will take up the reins from October 2011. Before relocating to the shores of Lake Zurich, Mr Dangel's most recent position was as Director of the Park Inn by Radisson in Sofia, Bulgaria. He succeeds Nathalie Grisoni, who is moving on to pastures new after 12 years in the role. Christian Dangel has taken over as Manager of the Steigenberger Bellerive au Lac in Zurich with effect from October 2011. Mr. Dangel is an internationally experienced director who has 28 years in the hotel business under his belt. He served at various hotels within the Rezidor Hotel Group prior to making the move to Steigenberger. The positions he has held include General Manager at the Park Inn by Radisson in Sofia Bulgaria, Operations Manager at the Radisson Blu in Basle and Director of Sales and Marketing at the Radisson SAS in Lucerne.

Born in Switzerland, Mr. Dangel was able to accumulate a wealth of international experience via a series of Director of Sales and Marketing roles at such establishments as the Al Raha Beach Hotel in Abu Dhabi, the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich and the Swissôtel Lima in Peru. He also completed a stint in Mexico, where he was responsible for an exclusive boutique resort in his capacity as Hotel Manager. Christian Dangel speaks five languages and is a graduate of the EHL Management Hotel School in Lausanne and the Bern School of Management. He is taking over from Nathalie Grisoni, who has been successfully managing the Steigenberger Bellerive au Lac since 1999. Ms Grisoni is now moving on to tackle new challenges in the Swiss hotel business.
