Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has opened Sheraton Tucuman Hotel in Argentina, the ninth Sheraton branded hotel in the country, and the tenth hotel under a Starwood brand in the country. The 124-room property is owned by the Argentine company, Sol del NOA S.A., and is operated by Starwood. The hotel offers six Executive Suites and a Presidential Suite. The Sheraton Club Lounge is located on the top floor, and offers a panoramic view of the park and the mountain landscape, a release stated.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh has promoted Melissa Raffaelli to the role of Director of Sales. Melissa joined the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in 2002 as a Guest Services Agent in the Front Office, before transferring to the Spa Reception and eventually moving into Group and Events Sales. She subsequently held a number of positions in the hotel sales team, most recently as Assistant Director of Sales. Prior to this, Melissa worked to promote both the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa and Turnberry, the Luxury Collection Resort in Ayrshire, to the international conference and incentive market, as Account Director for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Scotland.

Tristan joins the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa from the Sheraton Park Tower, a Luxury Collection hotel, where he was Hotel Manager. He began his career at Starwood Hotels & Resorts over 13 years ago as a graduate trainee at the Sheraton Park Tower. Previous Starwood roles include Assistant Director of Sales for the Central London hotels and Complex Director of Sales & Marketing at The Westin Palace Madrid. In his new role as General Manager of the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Tristan will continue to build on the successful re-launch of the 269-room hotel following its multi-million pound refurbishment last year.

NEWS | Marc L. Messina has been appointed General Manager at Sheraton

Previously, Messina spent the majority of his career at the 1,600-room Anatole hotel in Dallas. From 1994 to 2011, he held various positions at The Anatole starting as director of Food & Beverage, as well as serving as director of Operations, before being promoted to general manager in 1994 of the 47-acre property. During his 17 years at The Anatole, Messina was the recipient of many awards, including General Manager of the Year in 2003 awarded by the Hotel Association of Greater Dallas.
